Description

Pan fried potatoes are the ultimate comfort food, offering a delightful combination of crispy golden edges and fluffy interiors. Perfect as a side dish or a stand-alone snack, these potatoes are seasoned to perfection with butter, olive oil, and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme), finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the Yukon Gold potatoes. Cube them into even pieces for consistent cooking.
  2. Pat the cubed potatoes dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the cubed potatoes in a single layer without overcrowding. Fry undisturbed for 5-7 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  5. Flip the potatoes gently using a spatula and season with salt and pepper. Continue frying until evenly browned.
  6. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, add the chopped fresh herbs and stir well to combine.
  7. Once fully cooked and crispy, remove from heat and serve immediately.
