Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk with sugar and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
- Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture. In a separate bowl, whisk flour and salt; gradually add to the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- For the filling, mix softened cream cheese with sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and chopped strawberries until smooth.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into rectangles. Spoon the filling onto each rectangle and roll them up tightly.
- Place buns on greased baking sheets; cover and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
