Prepare the Onion Rings
- Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
Cook the Onion Rings
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
- Arrange the coated onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
- Remove the onion rings from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
