Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients: 4 ripe limes, 1 cup of sugar, 4 cups of cold water, and ice cubes.
  2. Wash the limes thoroughly and cut each lime into quarters, keeping the skin on.
  3. Blend the quartered limes with 1 cup of sugar and 2 cups of cold water for about 30 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing down on the solids.
  5. Add the remaining 2 cups of cold water and ice cubes to the pitcher.
  6. Stir gently before serving and pour into tall glasses, garnishing with lime slices if desired.
