Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 2 pounds beef chuck cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup carrots sliced
  • 1 cup green peas fresh or frozen
Spices and Seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 4 cups beef broth

Method
 

Prepare the Beef
  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes and brown them on all sides.
  2. Remove the beef from the pot and set aside.
Cook the Vegetables
  1. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the carrots and cook for another 5 minutes.
Combine and Simmer
  1. Return the beef to the pot. Add the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  2. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add Potatoes and Peas
  1. Add the cubed potatoes and green peas to the pot. Stir well and continue to simmer for another 20-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Serve
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot with rice or bread.
