Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
  • 1 cup marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Vegetables
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers any color
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for serving
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Add the chopped bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms on top of the chicken and sauce.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it with the sauce and vegetables.
  2. Serve hot, topped with shredded mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
