Dough Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 packet active dry yeast about 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons sugar granulated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg beaten

Method
 

Making the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, beaten egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces.
  3. Roll each piece into an oval shape and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  4. Cover the shaped buns with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
