Method
Making the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, beaten egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shaping and Baking
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into an oval shape and place them on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover the shaped buns with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
