Prepare the Sandwiches
- Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and pepperoni slices.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top if desired, then top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
Cook the Sandwiches
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Serve
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing in half.
- Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
