Ingredients
  

Bread and Cheese
  • 8 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
Pizza Toppings
  • 1 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1 cup pizza sauce for dipping
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning optional
Butter
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened

Method
 

Prepare the Sandwiches
  1. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and pepperoni slices.
  3. Sprinkle Italian seasoning on top if desired, then top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
Cook the Sandwiches
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Serve
  1. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing in half.
  2. Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
