Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients: fresh tea bags, water, sugar, and optional lemon slices or mint for garnish.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add 4 to 6 tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Carefully remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm.
  5. Allow the sweetened tea to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  6. Pour the cooled sweet tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled, approximately 1 hour.
  7. Serve over ice with lemon slices or mint for an invigorating touch.
