Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz can
  • 1 teaspoon sugar to balance acidity
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking the Sauce
  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add sugar, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
